| Abstract |
| Computer-Generated Holograms have a long history. However, the quality of the produced holograms was usually insufficient to meet the need for artistic displays. The main reasons are the shortage of the pixels and an insufficiency of effective algorithm for calculating the wave field emitted from 3D objects in a large scale. In this paper, a polygon-based algorithm is proposed for producing high-definition full-parallax CGHs with billions of pixels. The object fields are calculated from 3D mesh data by using the method based on polygon sources of light. The produced CGHs give a large sensation of depth and have high quality to meet artistic displays. The procedure for calculating and producing the CGHs are presented and the fabricated CGHs are demonstrated. |
