| Abstract |
| A true 3D display Prototype based on priciple of the holography is designed using a LCoS from Three-Five Systems as a spatial light modulator which is a reflective liquid-crystal device with the 1280 * 1024 pixels ,12μm in size and the opening rate 92%. Characteristics of LCoS phase-only modulation are first measured by interferometry to acquire the more accurate LCoS phase modulation parameters which is a chart of gray-phase. The result is very critical to enhance the brightness of a phase-only hologram and have served as the truth values for the final phase modulation control. Then, using vector optical wave theory and the binary optics, a blazed grating model of liquid crystal is built ,which should take full use of the characteristics of LCoS phase modulation parameters measured and match the controlling electrode voltage of liquid crystal. The blazed grating model acts as “active” ladder grooves and the intensity distribution of exit light is changed acoording to diffraction angle of each pixel result from different grating constant. The phase distribution of a computer generated holograms(CGH) which is got from Iterative Fourier-transform algorithm. Diffraction efficiency and diffraction angle can be obtained by corresponding grating constant and diffraction region. Finally, the multi-gray almost phase-only hologram is designed according to the measurement and theoretical modeling. Theory and experiment show that the method of enhancing reconstruction range of CGH is appropriate. Projects from National Natural Science Foundation of China (60872106) |
